The Hospital of Hope Timor-Leste (HOHTL) is a not-for-profit organisation whose long term vision is to:

• Assist in providing the people of Timor-Leste with quality healthcare for many illnesses that are currently unable to be treated, and to do this in a culturally appropriate way.

• Make available the skills, experience and commitment of many professional Australian and International medical, nursing and allied health staff who have indicated their great desire to help provide care and train others in a totally voluntary capacity.

• Work in co-operation with the Ministry of Health to alleviate pressure on the existing health system and increase capability.

• Operate a hospital with training at all levels so that the Hospital can slowly transition to being run and staffed by an increasing proportion of East Timorese citizens

• Achieve the maximum benefit for the people of East Timor with the minimum expenditure - the hospital will work on the basis of passion, energy and commitment, with many working pro bono with the aim of reducing costs and optimising quality.
